Why Use a Drone?

Over the last 24 months, Drones, more specifically Ag Spraying Drones; those with increased size and utility, have become amongst the best tools in Ag Producers' belts. No longer just used for "spot" spraying, Ag Drones are now able to fully satisfy most farmers' spraying and spreading needs for a fraction of the traditional costs.

We often get the occasional 'Boom Sprayer' who insists that because they can spray 10 gallons per acre they have the better piece of equipment. But a cursory look at most labels (which are the law), will reveal that for ground rigs, 10 gallon is the minimum. But for Aerial applications, only 2 gallons per acre are demanded. This difference amounts to a much more efficient application due to the mechanics of the Drone's prop wash.

Precision is EVERYTHING

The benefit of using Ag Drones over ground rigs and even traditional crop dusting airplanes is in their absolute precision. While airplanes may be better in long, rectangular fields of 1000+ acres, an Ag Drone excels in individual field under 500 acres that abut trees and obstacles; places that suffer damage due to drift.

There is no comparison between an Airblast Sprayer (a ground rig used for nut and fruit trees) and an Ag Drone Sprayer. And it's not just the savings in water alone, but the wasting of expensive chemical treatment used to cover and protect the trees, nuts, and fruit.

Airblast Sprayer vs Ag Drone

In comparison to Ag Drones, Airblast Sprayers do only one single thing extremely well: Waste Expensive Product.

In today's environment where all Ag related costs are doubling by the day, using an Airblast Sprayer could not be the worst piece of Ag equipment to use. So why do farmers continue to use them?

Habit.

Ag Drones by far out compete Airblast Sprayers for precision, cost . . . everything.
